How to Contact Augusta Precious Metals: Every Channel That Works

Advertising disclosure: if you request Augusta's information kit through a link on this page, this site may receive compensation from Augusta Precious Metals. That relationship never changes a finding on this site. How compensation works here.

Research, not advice. Read the full notice

Nothing below has been tailored to your circumstances, and none of it counts as investment guidance, tax counsel, or a retirement plan. Money placed in bullion or in a metals-backed retirement account can be lost: principal carries no protection, positions are often slow to sell, dealers price above spot, vault and insurance bills recur annually, and withdrawing early or the wrong way hands the IRS a penalty. What metals did in any prior stretch says nothing dependable about what comes next. Speak with a fiduciary advisor, and with whoever prepares your taxes, before you open a gold IRA, move a 401(k) balance, or place an order for metal. Whoever writes here researches this industry independently and holds no advisory license: no CFP, no CFA, no broker-dealer registration.

Augusta Precious Metals publishes two phone lines, 800-700-1008 for new inquiries and 855-909-0082 for existing account holders, both staffed Monday through Friday 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific and Saturday 7 AM to 11 AM. Email reaches the company at info@augustapreciousmetals.com and a web form sits at augustapreciousmetals.com/contact, but the number matters less than the routing behind it: roughly half of what people call a gold IRA dealer about is a custodian question the dealer cannot answer.

I spent eleven years as a third-party retirement plan administrator, fielding calls that belonged to somebody else. What follows is every channel Augusta publishes, verified against the company’s own page rather than copied from another review site, plus the routing map that decides which desk can actually help you.

Every item above was read off Augusta’s own contact page on 26 July 2026. Two of them cross-check independently: the BBB profile carries the same Beverly Hills address and the same 800-700-1008 number, and lists the company as accredited since 16 February 2015, with an A+ letter grade and one complaint filed in the trailing three years, as verified on 24 August 2026. The 2026 re-review that had temporarily shown the profile as Not Rated has closed and the grade is restored. The same verify-at-the-source habit applies to the company’s Google reviews: read the count and score directly rather than trusting a summary.

One standing caveat. Phone numbers in this category get retired and reassigned, and a stale number on a review site is worse than none, since somebody eventually buys the abandoned line. Confirm against augustapreciousmetals.com/contact before you dial. The addresses file covers the same habit for the physical sites.

Two lines, and why the split is worth respecting

Augusta labels them plainly on its own page: “New to Augusta” for 800-700-1008 and “Current Customer” for 855-909-0082. This is not a vanity split. The two calls have almost nothing in common.

The new-customer line routes into an education process rather than a price quote. You get a person whose job is to walk you through the structure, offer the one-on-one web conference, and send the information kit. If you call expecting a spot price and an order number in four minutes, you will read that as evasion. It is the application process working exactly as designed, and it is the single most common complaint theme from people who wanted a transactional bullion dealer and got a consultative one instead.

The current-customer line routes into service: order status, buyback conversations, product questions, and reaching your assigned representative when you have lost their direct line. Existing customers who dial the new-customer number get requeued, which costs a transfer and sometimes a callback.

The practical rule: once you have a representative, neither main line is your fastest path. The direct line you got at onboarding is. Write it down on day one, because the moment you need it is rarely the moment you feel like hunting for it.

The hours are Pacific, and that changes who has the better day

Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific. Saturday, 7 AM to 11 AM Pacific.

Your time zoneWeekday windowSaturday window
Pacific6 AM to 4 PM7 AM to 11 AM
Mountain7 AM to 5 PM8 AM to 12 PM
Central8 AM to 6 PM9 AM to 1 PM
Eastern9 AM to 7 PM10 AM to 2 PM

The 6 AM Pacific open is unusually early, and it is the detail that matters most to Eastern callers: you get a normal 9-to-7 business day, including two hours after most offices close. Pacific callers pay for that with a 4 PM cutoff, which is early if you were planning to call after work.

The Saturday window is the one people misuse. Four hours on a weekend is a fine slot for a first conversation or a kit request. It is a poor slot for anything requiring a third party, because your old plan administrator and your custodian are almost certainly closed. If your question needs somebody else on the line, keep it on a weekday.

Your custodian keeps its own hours, and they will not be Augusta’s. Check the number and hours on your custodial statement rather than assuming overlap, and if you need a three-way call, book it in the middle of a weekday morning Pacific time when both coasts are staffed.

Which desk can actually answer your question

Half the “support problems” in this category are routing problems, and the routing is set by statute rather than by company preference. IRC 408(a) requires an IRA to be held by a bank or an approved non-bank trustee, and 408(m)(3) requires IRA bullion to be in that trustee’s physical possession. A dealer cannot be your custodian. A custodian does not sell metal. Your information is therefore split across parties by design.

Augusta works with Equity Trust Company as its preferred custodian and stores IRA metal at Delaware Depository, both stated on Augusta’s own gold IRA page. Confirm the custodian named on your own paperwork rather than assuming, because dealer relationships change and a dealer can work with more than one. The portal file covers what each system displays.

That last row is not a joke. Neither party is your tax adviser, and the custodial agreement says so in writing. Required minimum distributions begin at 73 under current law and are described in Publication 590-B; the custodian will process one and will not tell you whether taking it in metal or cash is better for your situation.

The chase order for a rollover in flight

When money is moving and nothing appears to be happening, people call the dealer first because the dealer is the party they have a relationship with. The dealer is also the party with the least ability to move it. The correct order:

  1. Your old plan administrator or current IRA provider. This is the bottleneck in most delayed transfers, and it is the only party that can escalate its own processing queue. Ask for the date the check or wire was sent and the tracking or reference number.
  2. The receiving custodian. Ask whether funds have posted and, if not, what is outstanding. A missing signature or a mismatched account title is the usual answer.
  3. Your Augusta representative. They coordinate and they chase, and having steps one and two already answered makes that call thirty seconds instead of a week.

The clock matters if you took an indirect rollover. Funds distributed to you must be redeposited within 60 days or the amount becomes taxable, and the one-per-12-months limit applies to IRA-to-IRA indirect rollovers, both covered on the IRS rollovers page and in Publication 590-A. A direct trustee-to-trustee movement avoids the clock entirely, which is why the direct versus indirect file exists and why the answer is almost always direct. If you are inside a 60-day window, say so on the first call to every party. It changes how the request is queued.

What the web form actually does

Five fields: first name, last name, email, phone, message. Below the button sits a consent line stating that by submitting you agree to receive information and marketing at the number provided, including by text and by autodialed, prerecorded and artificial voice technology, and that consent is not a condition of purchase.

Read that as what it is. The form is a lead form, not a support ticket. Submitting it puts you into a phone follow-up sequence. That is standard across the category and it is disclosed plainly, which is more than some competitors manage, but you should type your number knowing what it buys.

If you want written information without a phone conversation, email is the better channel: info@augustapreciousmetals.com creates a record, does not carry the marketing consent, and gets you a reply you can file. If you want the material without a conversation at all, the information kit request is the low-commitment route, though it too generates a follow-up call.

There is no live chat on the contact page as of July 2026. For a company whose entire model is an assigned human, that absence is consistent rather than surprising.

How the other large dealers handle the same problem

I checked the published contact pages of the three dealers Augusta is most often compared against, on the same day, using the same method.

American Hartford GoldYes11755 Wilshire Blvd, 11th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90025Not published on that page

Two observations, offered with the limits attached. First, publishing a street address and staffed hours is a low bar, and not every large dealer in this category clears it. Second, a company that does clear it has told you almost nothing about its pricing, and I would not let a tidy contact page do any work in a buying decision. It rules out one narrow failure mode: the operation you cannot find and cannot reach.

Verify each of these on the company’s own site rather than trusting the table. Contact pages change, and a comparison table ages badly by design.

Verify the number before you dial

The precious metals category attracts impersonators, and Augusta maintains its own page on common retirement scams, which tells you the company sees enough of it to publish about it.

Three rules that cost nothing:

  • Dial from the company’s own website. Not from an email, not from a search ad, not from a review site. Search ads in this vertical are bought by affiliates and by outright impersonators, and the number in an ad is not necessarily the number of the company named in the ad.
  • Never give an account number, a Social Security number or a custodian login to an inbound caller. If somebody calls claiming to be your representative and asks for identifying data, take a name, hang up, and dial the published line. A legitimate representative will not object to a callback.
  • Treat any urgency as a signal. Nothing in a gold IRA is time-critical except a 60-day rollover window you already started. Pressure to act today is a property of the caller, not of the account.

When contact is not working

The complaint record shows no unreachable-company pattern at BBB, Trustpilot or ConsumerAffairs. Process still beats hope when a specific issue stalls.

  1. Put it in writing. Email the issue with the specific resolution you want and a date you expect a reply. Verbal escalation leaves no record and no clock.
  2. Give it five business days. Then reply to your own email, which keeps the thread and the timestamps together.
  3. Ask for a supervisor on the existing-customer line, referencing the written thread.
  4. Route to the custodian if the issue is account-side rather than metal-side. Half of stalled issues stall because they were filed with the wrong party.
  5. File with the BBB. It creates a public record and dealers with an accreditation to protect answer those quickly. The disputes file covers what to expect.
  6. Your state attorney general’s consumer division for anything the above does not resolve, and your own counsel if a material sum is involved.

What this file cannot tell you

It cannot promise these numbers are current when you read it. Contact details are the most perishable facts on any review site, which is why the verification date is stated at the top and why the instruction is to check the source.

It cannot give you your representative’s direct line. That comes from your onboarding, and nobody can look it up for you from outside.

It cannot give you your custodian’s contact details, because the custodian on your account is named on your paperwork and may not be the one a general article assumes.

It cannot make a verbal answer binding. What a representative tells you on the phone is not the custodial agreement, and where the two conflict, the agreement wins. Get anything consequential in email.

What to keep on file

  • Your representative’s name and direct line, somewhere your spouse or executor can find it
  • The custodian’s name, account number and service line, from your welcome packet
  • Every email thread with Augusta, filed with the matching invoice
  • The date and reference number of any transfer in flight, plus the sending institution’s contact
  • A note of which questions you were told to route where, because the routing rarely changes and you will forget

The compressed version

Two numbers: 800-700-1008 before you are a customer, 855-909-0082 after. Email at info@augustapreciousmetals.com. Hours are 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific on weekdays and 7 AM to 11 AM Saturday, which is a generous window if you are on the East Coast and a short one if you are not.

The number matters less than the routing. Metal questions go to Augusta. Account questions go to the custodian. A rollover that has stalled is chased at the sending institution first and the dealer last. Confirm every detail here against the company’s own contact page before you rely on it, and never dial a precious metals number you found in an advertisement.

Frequently asked questions

How do I contact Augusta Precious Metals?

To contact Augusta Precious Metals, call 800-700-1008 if you are a prospective customer or 855-909-0082 if you already hold an account, both staffed Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific and Saturday from 7 AM to 11 AM. Email reaches the company at info@augustapreciousmetals.com, and the web form sits at augustapreciousmetals.com/contact. Existing customers usually get faster answers from their assigned representative's direct line than from either main number.

What is Augusta Precious Metals' phone number?

The company publishes two. New inquiries go to 800-700-1008, which is the same number carried on the BBB profile, and current customers go to 855-909-0082. Numbers in the precious metals category get retired and reassigned, so confirm both against Augusta's own contact page before dialing rather than trusting a review site, including this one.

What are Augusta Precious Metals' business hours?

Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 4 PM Pacific, plus Saturday from 7 AM to 11 AM Pacific, as published on the company's contact page. For an Eastern time caller that translates to 9 AM to 7 PM on weekdays, which is a full business day, and 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday.

Should I call Augusta or my custodian about my account?

Call Augusta for anything metal-side: current pricing, placing a purchase, a buyback quote, or whether a coin is IRA eligible. Call the custodian, most commonly Equity Trust Company, for anything account-side: balances, statements, required minimum distributions, or a beneficiary change. IRC 408(a) and 408(m)(3) require a separate trustee to hold IRA metal, which is why a dealer cannot answer custodial questions.

Can I email Augusta Precious Metals instead of calling?

Yes. General questions go to info@augustapreciousmetals.com and media inquiries to media@augustapreciousmetals.com. Email creates a written record and does not carry the marketing-consent language attached to the web form, so it is the better channel if you want documentation of an answer rather than a phone follow-up.

How do I verify a phone number claiming to be Augusta Precious Metals?

Dial the number listed on augustapreciousmetals.com/contact directly rather than trusting a number from an email, a search ad, or a review site, since the precious metals category attracts impersonators. Never give an account number, Social Security number, or custodian login to an inbound caller; take a name, hang up, and call the published line back.
